26 November 10:15-15:30A Working Lab, workshop room Mustang Sally

Welcome to a free session on intellectual property (IP) in research and innovation.

Get a deeper understanding of why IP is fundamental to value creation, funding strategies, and global competitiveness. Together, we will explore how strategic IP management can drive innovation, strengthen research impact, and support long-term success.

In addition to the strategic perspective, the sessions will offer practical guidance on how researchers and innovators can identify, protect, and maximize the value of their intellectual assets. You will also gain insight into how patents work, what is required to obtain them, and the risks associated with insufficient IP management.

The program is led by Måns Marklund, Senior Business Advisor at Bergenstråhle, and Charlotta Lindvall Blom, Patent Consultant at Bergenstråhle. After lunch, there will be an opportunity to sit down one-on-one for personal guidance and advice regarding IP. If you are interested in a meeting, please indicate this on the registration form. It is also possible to attend a one-on-one meeting without prior registration.

Who should attend? Researchers, doctoral students, postdocs, and employees at Umeå University and SLU, who wish to expand their knowledge and strategic use of intellectual property.
